Kindred Therapy LLC lives by values that guide who we are as a team and how we show up in our communities.
Creating strong relationships
Building strong, meaningful connections is a basic need for all of us. As Esther Perel has said, “The quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives.” We value building relationships within our community and helping our clients do the same. It is important to our business to promote strong, lasting bonds within our team and to work collaboratively both in the office and out in the world.
Serving the community
Part of our mission is to contribute to promoting wellness within queer, gender expansive, BIPOC communities through community involvement, speaking engagements, and financial contributions. It is our goal to reach more people and provide psychoeducational services to students, teachers + administration, and businesses through regular outreach.
Invest in quality
We’re committed to providing the best atmosphere for our clients and our team. Our commitment is seen in the high quality work environment for our team, benefits package, technology-focused workflows, and wrap-around services for our clients. We promote continued education for our clinicians through training in evidence-based practices to enact the value of continued learning and improvement.
Anti-oppression
Kindred Therapy believes in directly addressing the impact that systems of oppression have on our clients, staff and communities. To that end, we cultivate a culture that encourages examination of power, privilege, decolonization of mental health and collective responsibility. Kindred Therapy LLC is committed to implementing practices and policies to support the deconstruction of white supremacy, patriarchy, cissexism, heterosexism, and ableism. Our aim is to be constantly learning and growing as clinicians and community members through a process of self-awareness and self-compassion.
Trauma-informed
Kindred Therapy LLC follows the principles of trauma-informed care both in and outside the therapy room. From structure to interaction, we prioritize safety, transparency, mutual support among staff, collaboration, empowerment, choice, and recognizing individual, cultural, collective, and legacy trauma.
