Meet Lauren

Intern Therapist

I am a Black, queer, neurodivergent person who believes that radical love, patience, compassion, curiosity, and joy bring radical change. You will feel the infusion of these beliefs in our sessions.

Since the world can be a very hard place, my intention is to create a soft place for my clients to exist without judgment. My goal is to meet you where you are and then walk with you as you explore what shaped you, who you are today, and who you want to be.

I use a trauma-informed and collaborative lens which means that I center your autonomy, safety, and choice in our sessions and we will work together to create and meet your goals. With an anti-oppressive approach, I will highlight the ways systems of oppression like racism, homophobia, gender norms, capitalism, etc. impact your life and, together, we will explore ways to resist, rest, and heal.

My favorite quote is by Maya Angelou who says, “Take a day to heal from the lies you’ve told yourself and the ones that have been told to you.”

I hope that together we can sift through these untruths and empower the voice you’ve always had.

Lauren is supervised by Leah Cohen, LCSW.
