Meet Lauren Gray, LSW
black queer therapist offering Therapy for BIPOC in Pennsylvania and New Jersey
I am a Black, queer, neurodiverse person who believes that radical love, patience, compassion, curiosity, and joy bring radical change. You will feel the infusion of these beliefs, warmth, and, sometimes, laughter in our sessions. I am neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed in my therapeutic space so we will move at the pace that works for you.
Sometimes people feel stuck, exhausted, and need to find a place to rest, be understood, and be seen. Since the world can be a very hard place, I create a soft and validating place for my clients to exist without judgment. My goal is to meet you where you are and then walk with you as you explore what shaped you, who you are today, and who you want to be.

I can support you with:
- Creating a more easeful relationship with feeling, emotions, and rest
- Rediscovering the power of your voice and imagination
- Nurturing a more gentle internal dialogue to move you towards growth and liberation
- Unlearning internalized messages from oppressive social systems and socialization
- Understanding and working through anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges
- Developing tools to support emotional regulation and peace
- Establishing boundaries for reciprocal connections and relationships
- Becoming grounded in your values and strengths
- Connecting with your body through somatic and embodiment practices
- Adjusting to life’s ups, downs, and transitions
- Coming home to yourself and loving how you feel when you get there
Areas of Focus
- ADHD and other forms of neurodiversity and sensory experiences
- multiplicity and plural people (sometimes referred to as DID)
- processing trauma and complex trauma (racialized, gendered, etc.)
- improving self-esteem, self-love, and self-worth
- supporting other healers and therapists
- burnout and stress
- embodiment and somatic practices
- depression
- anxiety
Values and Approach
Curiosity and compassion are the foundation of my therapeutic practice.
Something you will hear me say often is “be gentle with yourself, as gentle as you can be“. This is because I believe gentleness and softness with the self is the most conducive way to experience healing, freedom, and peace.
As an anti-capitalist, I have noted the pattern of numbness that capitalism requires of people to function in it. This motivates me to support you in safely and patiently reconnecting with your body, desires, and needs to combat oppressive systems and live a fuller life.
I love meeting my clients where they are and infusing the things that interest them into our sessions. From tarot to ancestral connection to dreams, I am open to world-building with you to create the conditions you need to exist peacefully and authentically.
I also believe that one deep belly laugh a day is a necessity in today’s world. In our sessions, we will laugh, cry, process, release, and everything in between- emphasis on the laughter. I would love to meet you! Sign up for a free 15-minute consultation using the link below.
My favorite quote is by Maya Angelou who says,
“Take a day to heal from the lies you’ve told yourself and the ones that have been told to you.”
Softness, curiosity, and laughter are a necessary part of healing and liberation. Let's go get free together!
